Don't close the book on this one yet. Mimi was adamant that Tom couldn't deliver the goods in the sack, apparently shot blanks with Nicole and if you pay close attention to his daughter you'll notice that she has an uncanny resemblance to Tom's cousin William Mapathor (he's also an actor, you can catch him on Lost's old episodes - compare the daughter and his eyes). I'd venture a very good guess that Katie was basted with cousin William's mojo!
Tom is a draw and a cash cow for the "Church". They've turned him into an institution - his shortcomings and image are guarded like State Secrets (they successfully brow-beat Sumner Redstone after the MI-III movie fiasco).
